KP3 RCA In/Out to a Presonus Firepod. What cables and where?

Hey guys! my first post here!
Okay so my dilemma is that im trying to process audio from Ableton with the Kaoss Pad 3. Im using the presonus firepod as my interface:

. I bought 2 of these cables:

-Are these right? is it a problem that these are unbalanced for my situation? (I found RCA cables with a TRS end but i figured since The RCA is unbalanced in the first place it wouldn't make a difference... Right?)

Besides cable confusion... I would obviously route whatever track/channel that i desire to process out to the firepod via one of the back line inputs ->into the line in of the KP3 -> from the line out of the KP3 into one of the inputs of the Firepod?... But which one? The line input on the back or one of the on the front??
I'm really worried that i didn't buy the right cables! HELP! And please be as specific as you possibly care to/can be javascript:emoticon('')

There are connection diagrams for the KP3 on pages 8 and 9 in the owner's manual:

They're pretty specific... start with them & see if they help.

Yeah I've already read this. No help at all. My concerns are more with what cables and where they would go in my specific set up

No, those are the wrong cables. Do not use them or you will short the KP3 outputs together, which could fry them.

You need 4 cables with RCA Male to 1/4" Mono TR male, or a pair of stereo cables. The KP3 has stereo in and out, so your I/O box needs 4 separate 1/4" jacks connected, 2 for input and 2 for output. The channels are all independent, so no Y cables or adapters should be used. In fact, Y cables should never be used to connect two outputs directly together on any device. It's pretty easy to find stereo cables with RCA on one side and 1/4" mono plugs on the other.

THANK GOD! finally a meaningful piece of info! are you sure that the ts 1/4 ends are good for my firepod? i read in another thread that trs can be used as well for the sake of keeping things balanced...? idk

Balanced signals are not better for short cable lengths with line level signals. That's why the KP3 has unbalanced line outputs, since it would serve no purpose to have balanced outputs and inputs. It's an effector, so it's always going to be in close cable distance to whatever it's connected to. Besides, it's pointless to have a TRS connector and a single RCA connector on the other, since RCA has one signal and one ground, while TRS is for two signals and one ground. The only time you'd have a TRS for the KP3 is for a stereo unbalanced input to go to a pair of RCA jacks, where one RCA signal goes to the Tip, and the other to the Ring. But your audio I/O doesn't have stereo 1/4" jacks. It has balanced/unbalanced MONO inputs. It works just fine to put a 1/4" mono plug into those jacks. The ring will just be grounded, which is fine.
