Hi!

I've connected a foot switch to Kronos, and in the Global section I've assigned it to "JS+Y".

When I'm playing the CX-3 organs, I can now control the leslie rotor by tapping the foot switch.

However, consider this setup in a combi:
- A SGX-1 piano assigned to channel 1 which I'm playing on the Kronos
- A CX-3 Organ assigned to channel 2 which I'm playing on a MIDI controller keyboard

When I tap the foot switch, it (obviously) controls the JS+Y from the piano, not the organ. Is it possible to control the channel 2 organ with the foot switch ?

Please look at the parameter guide page 465 "Enable Foot switch" or go to your kronos screen in combi mode and set tab MIDI FILTER / ZONES > MIDI FILTER 3
There you should be able to set what timbres in the combi react to foot swith and the ones that are not affected.

As far as i found out, the JS x/y, ribbon and switch 1 & 2, are always assigned to the global channel, other than buttons and knobs which are selectable by choosing a certain timbre.
I guess so are switch, pedal and damper.

The pedal should be plugged in your MIDI controller. If you can select what CC the pedal sends, assign it to CC1. Js+Y is CC1. If you can't, check what you can assign to it as a control change and use that CC as a Leslie Fast/Slow trigger in the Kronos CX-3 program instead of Js+Y.

The problem is that I'm not always playing the organ on the MIDI controller...
So, I basically have 2 choices:
- Buy another pedal and use one of them according to which keyboard is controlling the organ sounds
- Make sure the organ sound is always played from the same keyboard

I can probably do this the other way around on my MIDI controller... I think I can set the MIDI channel for each of the controls seperately...

If you use the leslie as IFX you can set a switch to the leslie speed and IFX controllers are globally if I'm correct.

i had the same problem because i wanted to use only one sustain pedal for both boards. This tool did the job:

I also can recommend a Behringer FCB1010 ... cost about $100 I think and then you have about 10 switches and 2 pedals.

I can use a lot of things at the same time: volume of lower keyboard, other pedal as ribbon controller (so I don't have to remove my hands from the keyboard), switches I can select per combi but mostly are set to: hold, portamento on/off, leslie on/off, fast/slow, leslie power down, overdrive on/off.

The Behringer controller is a bit overkill for me...
I really need 3 pedals ... 2 sustain pedals and 1 switch for turning on/of the rotor of the organ...

I can just keep the organ sounds on channel 2 and use them on my MIDI controller only. Thanks for the info!

Ok ... but you can keep the organ sounds on 1 or 2 if you use the IFX leslie and set the modulation source of that IFX to switch.

You can use Behringer FCB1010, which can send out CC signals on two different channels at the same time... I use it to controll sustain, sustenuto, rotary and volume on 2 boards. (Second board is connected by USB to the Kronos...)
With its software editor for programming, this pedalboard is very flexible and reliable. I would give it a try...

regarding the Beringer 1010 board are there instructions anywhere in terms of connecting this to the K, I'd like to be able to assighn each switch on the board to control the 8 karma buttons and then some...

Michel thats sounds like an awesome setup you have with your berhinger. I too dont like to take my hands off the keys while playing. After all we have two feet may as well put them to use like a drummer lol

I never tried to assign the 8 karma buttons ... however if there is a simple CC message available it is possible (you could check the parameter guide for it).

If you buy the Behringer board, also think about buying the UNO chip ... it's only $10 or so (don't know if it is with/without posting), but then you get an additional 5 stomp boxes. The only thing I could not get to work yet is INC/DEC buttons (there is no CC for it ... at least not one that works); going to sort it out these vacation.

The Behringer foot controller doesn't seem to be a good solution for me. I like using "real" sustain pedals. Other then that, I really just need 1 pedal for the leslie rotor in the organ sounds...

I just noticed that my MIDI controller (Axiom 61) doesn't have an additional foot switch input. So, I'll give Michel's IFX solution a try... Too bad I must make a lot of changes for that to work (change program as well)...
