Will KORG entertain my faulty EMX?

Post by imist »

Hi there,

I have purchased a EMX from Ebay, the seller did explain to me that it was slightly faulty so i knew what i was getting. Anyway, the problems i have identified so far are:

1: Shift button not responding
2: Part Common>Pitch/Glide not responding
3: Part Common: EG Time is controlling Pitch/Glide

Synth Filter:

1: EG INT Not responding
2: Drive not responding

Ribbon Controller not responding

All buttons feel unresponsive requiring a fair amount of pressure to work.

If i had to guess, i would say it feels as though the PCB underneath has slipped from its mount causing either loose connections or making certain contacts undetectable.

So, will Korg entertain the situation? or because i purchased second hand does that leave me on my own?

Sorry if this sounds a bit to the point or even rude, its just that im having issues with the Alesis iO Dock aswell, getting a response from Alesis is like getting blood from a stone.

Will Korg help me out on this?

Best regards.

You'd be best off to contact Korg and find out.
This is not an official KORG support channel, and Korg staff don't frequent most sections of this forum.

You will need to contact Korg UK. They will probably want you to ship the unit to them and they will charge you for the repair, parts (if any), and shipping.

Alternatively, you may be lucky and find a local repair place.
I used to work in a computer shop in Bristol and we would take on small jobs like this, keyboards, and mixers too. There was also a really good music shop there that did repair to new and vintage equipment. I'm sure there are a few small places like these scattered around the country.
