Burningbusch, great thread, I am planning on adding these sounds as soon as I load up the aus piano. The sounds were great. :D

DoubleM, have you tried the RAR version? There might be something about the compression that's throwing this off. I'm on a Mac, BTW.

Burning Busch,

I've got a "hot" question for you. I loaded up the Sonatina strings on a flash drive and set it aside. 2 days ago I purchased and loaded up the Aus. piano. Yesterday, I also bought one of the Karo soundsets(couldn't afford the KSL). Both loaded up fine BTW; however, the Aus. piano occupies UG001-UG0032. How do I load up the Strings to either UG033-x or to another user bank. As I had mentioned, there was no field that looked like I could change the location when I loaded the KSC files.

You did such a terrific job, I want these strings badly. I am not great on the software side, so I would greatly appreciate some detailed instructions on how to load it up correctly the first time so I don't screw up the piano.

Thanks, you guys are great! Denny C :D :D :D

I'm not really familiar with the Sonatina strings, however you probably can use PCG Tools to copy them anywhere you want.

Hi,

I downloaded the strings, saved them on the SSD, saved PCG in User EE, and put the KSC to autoload. Everything works fine (great strings), but when turning off the Kronos, after the reoload, something went wrong, when taking the Ensemble strings, I get the sound from the Violin, chossing the violin, I get the 2.Strings.....everything mixed up.
When reloading the KSC manually, everything is alright again.
It seems, that the route to the samples is wrong, when autoloading.

Any help?

Thank you!
Lars

If you load the KSC manually, did you chose "append" or "clear RAM"? In the latter case, the references should be ok.

I didn'dt try autoload yesterday, but I loaded the KSC via "append", and everything was mixed up the same way you described it. I already have some samples loaded (6 multisamples) - if I shift the index of the used multisamples e.g. in one Sonatina program by 6, everything is ok again.

Assuming there will be an increasing number of "open source" samples in the future, and I would like to use more than one at the same time, will I have to go through every program and changing the multisample indices?? There must be another way!

Hi Jens,

I choose "Clear Ram" when loading manually, that works fine, but It does not work with Autoload. But the way shifting the indexes sounds good...I will try this. But it is not the solution I did hope to get :-)

I appreciate the effort and that these have been shared. Thank you. For my tastes, I am waiting for the Legendary strings though. If not those, I'll probably grab the Karo Unison set.

Wanted to express my gratitude for this. It's going straight to my autoload list!

Also working on a couple combis for it.

Really beautiful, believable sounds. I didn't find any factory patches that come close to this for realism.

I just downloaded...been meaning to-never had time. I figured since I was running some comparisons with VSL and Karo and East West and my old Roland SRX04 card--throw these in...

And really stand up well. They beat the Kronos's built in by a long shot. which means this should be a must download for any Kronos user wanting strings.

There are some odd tuning issues...doesn't stand up to just intonation at all...which means they're not really concert pitch...haven't pinned it down to a range-may be the unison intonation of the orchestra itself, but...I've read people complain about that with LASS--but, it won't do just intonation from Cubase because of the K4 scripting--and I never really noticed anything. These, though, sound out Just playing around. Maybe why the chorusing was added? I've stripped the effects except the really astute parametric EQ bringing out the rosin...and just changed to a small hall Overb--and less of it.

If I pinpoint the source of the tuning, I will post here so everyone can make the adjustment.
