Agreed. They won't admit to it, but I'm certain that the issue has been addressed with the release of the X version.

Korg KRONOS 88 Repair...

Post by copajaus »

Yep, you would thing so...

When I get it back I will compare directly with my SV-1, both are RH3's.
Despite the fact that the SV-1 key bed is not the best around, at least it works and I don't seem to drop any note so far...

If it is not fixed properly I probably see if I can get my money back or alternatively I get rid of it and get something else...
I don't want to have to carry the keyboard all the time for repairs, it is unacceptable.

KORG KRONOS 88 Repair... It's back...!!!

Post by copajaus »

Hi there,

Got my Kronos back yesterday, the key bed action has been definitely fixed and no more drop notes. Fast passage, legato, everything work fine. I have adjusted the touch to a "7" and I don't think I will ever fiddle with this again. They have upgraded the O/S to 2.02 as well which is good.
It took 17 days for the keyboard to be fixed. I think they did a good job, I am glad to say it's worth doing, there is a difference afterward (You will hope after all this...).
I checked against my recently acquired SV-1 73. Despite being RH3 they still slightly different, not a bad thing, but now I cannot really complain about anything specific and both suit my playing level very well.

:D

Overall, I am glad I did this before the warranty expires.

Cheers.

I got my fourth Kronos 88 - they again gave up and just gave me a new one. The click is gone and the drop outs are gone. I think this one is finally going to do it. Of course the sounds have kept me holding on all this time and it seems like it will pay off.
