I bought a 64GB Playbook last week to keep track of my studio affairs, as the pricing is very appealing now ($299 CDN for the 64GB version). Great PIM capabilities to keep myself organized, two nice 1080p video cameras to record/analyze students' performances, plus much more. However, now that the Playbook runs Android apps, I went looking on the AppWorld shop for musical stuff. It's still a desert, but I did stumble across this Android port of Caustic 2 for $7.99:

I've never used an Android device and so was unaware of this app. It's fantastic - very deep, intuitive and easy to get creative with. I've also found a simplified version of JR's Morphwiz on Appworld for $1.99.
The Playbook - at half the size of the iPad - makes for a great travel companion, and I hope that more music apps materialize for it. Its front facing stereo speakers are LOUD and sound great, but with a good set of headphones, Caustic 2 has raised my expectations of what can be accomplished musically on the Playbook. If you have a Playbook, download the Caustic 2 Demo (and prepare to shell out $7.99 for the full version)!
