Editor just overwrote all my combi setups

Post by dhjdhj »

Just tried the new editor --- tried to receive USER-A (COMBI) and they all came in fine. Then tried to do the same thing with USER-G and just saw a bunch of Init Combi entries. I'm pretty certain I pressed R rather than T but even if I had pressed T, I would at least have expected a "Warning, you are about to overwrite your entire bank"

Sigh --- two days of work down the drain.

That's one of the reasons I'll never be using the editor. Too easy to screw things up. I decided that at first use and that was the end of it.

ALWAYS back up important data!

What about
"tried to receive USER-A ....."
did not suggest that backing up my data was the first thing that I was trying to do?

For future reference, when dealing with new data on the Kronos I suggest you create a new Set (File | New) in the editor. The software then knows there is no data stored in any of the banks and you can't mistakenly overwrite data.

I won't be using that editor again until things like this get fixed. No editor should wipe out all existing data on a synth without at least prompting/warning the user that this is going to happen.
Who knows what else is broken!

I'm also now having bizarre grief trying to validate some Kronos related audio unit whenever I try to run Logic.

What a headache.

EDIT: just deleted a Kronos.component file from my plugins folder. Hopefully that's what was causing the problem.
