Kronos Editor USB audio in Logic

Post by richford »

I've just installed Kronos editor and updated to V 1.6 on the workstation.

Everything is working except I can't work out how to get audio down the USB.

I'm running Logic 9 - plugin was recognised after some difficulty but it's now all working - I can open the editor as an AU instrument, midi is passed fine and sounds come out of the Kronos.
The only thing missing is getting the audio digitally straight into the DAW.
Does anyone know how you might do this?
The Global -> audio output tab in the editor I've looked at but it doesn't make any difference.
I use an Access Virus as well, and that does allow audio and control via the plugin architecture, so I'm sure it must be possible.

In Logic audio preferences have you selected Kronos as you're I/O device?
The Kronos editor does not produce audio.

Also along with what Lou said above, on the Mac you can create an aggregate I/O device. For example, Ensemble+ Kronos + JP80 + whatever. Very neat, very handy! Of course your mileage may vary depending on your kit. Logic and core audio ties all those gizmos into essentially a giant hybrid I/O monster.
Too much gear to list.

Yes I've had a look at all that now - I can see that must be the answer - but it all seems a bit buggy.

The aggregate devices thing is something I'd never spotted before - I don't know what the fields all mean so a spot of careful tweaking looks like it might be needed.
