Hi- given that you can purchase 2 mini KP's (to chain together perhaps or to have on seperate instruments) for less than the price of one KP 3- and if sampling was not important to you- and also bearing in mind that the pad motion on the KP3 is limited- surely the better sound mangling creative option would be 2 Mini's. (with change left over!)
I am not saying that this is so- it's just the way it seems to me. I have never owned a KP3- but have 3 Mini's. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Cheers

i love the minikp, as I too do not need sampling or chopping

I love sampling and the ability to use my own sounds and loops and transform them. Anyway, I'm the kind of guy that makes his loops. I find the KP (my first sampler) very creative, offering a lot of ways to explore sounds. And for live looping as well (very difficult exercise indeed). Having different machines opens to new experimentations, and give also the possibility to extend the palettte of the sounds/possible manipulations, to my opinion.

I'd say I fall somewhere in the middle, cos I own and use both a miniKP and a KP3. I like them both and feel having each gives me greater flexibility. However, I do agree that if you're not in need of sampling, or you own another sampler, its probably more affordable just to buy 2 mini's.
