Have any of you guys used the Sudosonic instructional vids? Are they worth the ride?

I am About 1/2 way through. Yes IMHO worth the ride.

I bought them. but I don't think they go in depth enough. And I can't understand why , when the guy is entering text, he repeatedly presses the "delete key" to clear all of the text when he could easily hit "clear"? I think the guy who did the Triton videos did a better job.

I did, but I do not recommend it. After watching half of it I gave up. Instead of actually teaching you how to do things, I felt ilke he was "browsing" the features of the keyboard, without really going into any of them in detail.

I heard from others that they are well done for getting a first overview of your new instrument. But they of course don't go in depth of the advanced functionality (which would be hard to achieve with a 9-engine machine with sampler and sequencer).

Korg made a six part video manual that gives you a pretty good overview of the Kronos. Rich Formidoni has made three "In the Studio" videos going into more depth on the SGX-1, EP-1, and CX-3 engines. They are a good place to start, and they are free on their website.

Go there and click on the video camera icon on the left. That will take you to all of the videos.

Rich also did some webcasts, where he dug deeper into the Kronos. He also answered a bunch of viewers questions. There's a great deal of info to be had from those videos. They are working on getting the videos of past webcasts up on the site, but they aren't there yet. Rich promises to have them up soon. When he does, you'll be able to find them here:

This machine is so deep for most, including myself. All the videos offer some light on the big picture. I thought the Sudosonic tutorial is useful as well as Rich's. Everyone probably has a different goal with the Kronos. It is good to get as much as you can from videos as well as your personal time with experimentation on this great sounding board.
