Simple Karma question

Post by SanderXpander »

For the Karma wizards out there;
I'm making a combi where I'd like to trigger a chord with my nanopad with timbre 1, yet have (almost?) the entire keyboard available to play sound 2. Is this possible? If so, how do I set it up? I thought the pads were separate from the actual keyboard but whenever I try to switch the timbre input to another channel I can't play the pads anymore either.

I'd like to hear more about this as well, because I was considering purchasing a nanopad for my Kronos, but if it's gonna be a pain to setup each time I change the combi or patch then I won't bother. :(

Thinking about this... I would assume the pads are assigned to a midi Chanel, and the nanopad id linked to the pads, so if you intend to use the nanopad on a different timbre then you'll have to change the midi chanel for the pads. I'm referring to the internal (screen based) pads.

Haven't done this, but it should be doable, I think ;)

For the timbre1 that you want to play with the Pads, you could transpose it down an octave below the physical keyboard. (so that a normal c0 plays at c-2 or so, for example. ) Program the nanopad to play those notes down there.
Assign the trigger range to only be down there. So then, when playing the normal keybed, it's not triggering the karma that your nano is.
