Hello everyone. I'm a new Korg owner and while I've owned simpler Rolands in the past, I don't have a history of using a mixer with various busses, dedicated effects processors etc. So I'm finding it a bit challenging to wrap my head around the difference between an Insert Effect, a Master Effect and the Total Effect concepts and how/when to use them.
For instance:
1) When do I used each type? In what situation are they best used?
2) How do I set them up so that I can control them when I'm playing live?
3) Where do I go to read up more on what the various types of effects do?
I'm primarily a live player, so while I'm playing live, I'd like to be able to adjust basic things like Reverb, Delay, cutoff filters, etc. that I would assign to one of these effects categories. But again, which category do I choose and why, and how do I do it?
Any advice or direction will be much appreciated.

question 1: actually there is not that much difference. Normally insert effects are used for individual instruments (i.e. programs/timbres in a combi), and the Master/Total effects for all of them. Mostly the MFX/TFX are about reverb or sometimes chorus that you would like to affect all or most programs.
question 2: By setting modulation sources (AMS) you can define which controller sets which parameter.
question 3: in the parameter guide all effects are explained in detail.
