Have I got a faulty KO2?

Hi All,

My KO2 seems to have three problems.

Firstly, some instruments/programs are way, way louder than others even within the same sound group and regardless of where you put your finger on the pad.

Secondly, a handful of sounds seem to play with 'clicks' and 'scratches' on certain parts of the pad, especially the patterns group.

Finally, when building up loops the playback develops clicks and scratches.

Questions:

Is this unique to my KO2? i.e. do I have a dud? (I think in America you call it a lemon)

Will the software update (1.08) solve the problems? Has anyone else found that the software update has solved these problems or similar?

Would a change of headphones make any difference?

It's normal for some sounds to be louder than others.

There are certain sounds that have clicks and other odd noises on parts of the pad as part of their normal range...but it sounds to me like this goes beyond that.

The playback having odd noises sounds very very wrong.

You ask if different headphones would help...how does it sound with no headphones at all, just using it's speaker?

Realised that it wasn't doing this played through the amp, so borrowed some headphones and again no problem.

My headphones are in the bin, am now searching Amazon for some decent (but cheap) replacements.

Incidentally when I checked it seems my KO2 shipped with software version 1.08 already installed. Perhaps this is the case for all UK machines, which would explain why the update is on the US website but not the UK one.

I just bought on from Amazon (USA) and it came with v1.08 also. At first I thought it said v1.00....tiny lettering is tiny.

No, I had to update mine from 1.06 to 1.08 (brought very recenly), however, my mini kp2 came with the latest software.
