'Too much' is not applicable to storage capacity.

i have just installed better RAM and an SSD drive and it seems like the KRONOS uses this as an extension rather than a separet drive so using the virtuel memory works. Now my meter says 1120 mb free of memory after i have auto loaded some other EX`s
My first impression after unscrewing the bottom was OMG...the inside looks very fragile. Thin pieces of metal all over and the bottom screws seems to hold the entire box together :?

[edit] forgot to mention the original SSD drive felt like a cheap piece of plastic. The new one felt i bit more solid :)

spalding12 wrote:i think the point is... you aren't going to load EVERYTHING from your second SSD at one time. because OS 2.0 allows a better file "management" setup. you can "partition" your data on that new drive (no matter how big it is) into "pieces" that can loaded into RAM without OVERLOADING it.

THIS is from the KORG website about this very issue:

User Sample Banks let you create your own high-capacity sample libraries.
Added in Kronos OS v2.0, User Sample Banks bring the benefits of KORG’s EXs to your own custom sample libraries. You can load and play many gigabytes of your custom or converted samples at once, using the internal SSD. Disk and memory management is also improved: you can create subsets of User Sample Banks, and mix and match parts of different banks, without duplicating samples on disk. It’s also easy to share sounds with friends and collaborators, since Programs, Wave Sequences, and Drum Kits maintain links to User Sample Banks even when samples are moved on disk or loaded onto a different Kronos instrument. Create your own samples, or import Akai and SoundFont 2.0 libraries using new, improved conversion features.
I really don't get it... lol. the thing I've not understood from day one is this sentence:

you can create subsets of User Sample Banks, and mix and match parts of different banks, without duplicating samples on disk
That's a basic feature of KSCs with EXs, and now with User Sample Banks as well. KSCs contain references to EXs and User Sample Banks; the actual data is stored elsewhere on the disk. You can load and un-load individual Multisamples and/or Drum Samples from multiple EXs and User Sample Banks, and save the result as a new KSC.

(i also have this question, is there a max drive capacity that the Kronos recognizes?)

For now, please direct specific questions about SSD upgrades to your Korg Distributor.

dan,
i appreciate that LAST PIECE OF ADVICE...
however...
can you please shed some light on whether KORG is developing a "KIT" that will make the SECONDARY SSD easier to install... and quicker?

as always, thanks in advance
