Who gets to hear your music?
It has been over 20 years since I gigged, so I just have fun and write my own songs on my Kronos.
Thankfully Korg Forums / youtube, gives me a platform to at least share what I do, and the comments are a real boost and a reason to finish things off. Thanks!
Just wondering what everyone else is up to and how they share there music.

Hi,
Its usually me or my son that gets to enjoy the Kronos (wife leaves everytime i use the speakers(??)). He is 11 and im trying to get him interested. He finds the kronos a bit intimidating due to its complexity, but the other day he sat behind the kronos exploring it for a couple of hours learning his way around its menues and playing the keys
He cant play, but i couldnt either 25 yrs ago so im teaching him how to use his ears and listen to the actual sounds and how they sound.
Im not really into sharing at youtube because i do not want any1 to take my ideas and make a profit. I have experienced that before and that is not cool.
I can copyright them in text, but if its not registered its no use.
One day i hope to put my EnsonicTS12, Korg R3 and the kronos together so he can enjoy them all

Great idea, but your poll option assumes that only once choice works for everyone. For me its the first 3. I also play piano in the lobby of a medical building as part of their "acoustic remedies" program, which I don't really consider "gigging", but I do get to play originals, so my music does get heard there too (even though its not on a Kronos).... much nicer when the building supplies the piano

To start with, most of my music is for personal consumption. I simply play the keyboards (with the Kronos and karma leading the way) and record them live in a DAW (Korg D3200). I then transfer them to a Mac and chop the music up into song size chunks, normalize, burn CD's and play them in the car.
Second, I take the better parts of this endless collection and use it as background music at corporate functions, this happens about 7 to 10 times a year. Just two days ago I supplied the music for "Safety Day" a two hour event, outdoors with about 500 people.
Third, I'll get with some friend and perform live, in a band, at some event, ranging from 100 to 1000 people. But this only happens twice a year at most.
Forth, I've submitted my music to the local Planetarium, where they use in a show, I also find my self occanionally involved in a video production, training or safety videos for a company, I'll sneek my music in to this also.
Fifth, I'll have a band or just a musician over to the my studio to record, while it's their music, I'll usually get to add something, last project I got to add two bass notes, to correct mistakes from the bass player.
I am a little older now (52) but just love every aspect of music and technology, from being a roadie to programming a modular synth to recording acoustic guitar.
I only wish I could make money doing music and give up the day job.

I do gig on accasion, but I also record and release CD's electronically for the whole world to hear (see sig). But there wasn't an option for that either. When I play gigs, it's with a cover band and no one gets to hear my original work (unless I'm noodling around during sound check or practice).

Hey music is areal job, it just does not pay much.
I have a friend who is always saying his music is not for sale.
Well, as a business, considering the amount of time and money I have invested in music, I would have to charge a fortune to just break even.
And who is going to pay me a few hundred dollars per song?
I do not hate my day job, it has enabled me to build a studio an stock it full of keyboards. I just wish it did not take cost me 40 to 50 hours a week, besides money equipment, it takes time to learn the technology and record and practice.
Sorry, enough whining. Back to the music.
Have agood one

Music is,after all, to be enjoyed. Making money from music has never been more difficult with illegal downloads and lack of live venues.
Like most things in the modern era, music is controlled by the top 1%. I've met some ruthless people in the music industry who are not in the industry for the love of music, but the love of money and status. The artist is just a commodity.
There are hundreds of songs that were written 30 years ago that will still be played 30 years from now. Today's music is like fast food and is quickly forgotten.
Digital music is wonderful and allows us to create amazing creative projects and we are in an era where we can sit in our houses and play some amazing machines.
Enjoy your music
