The retailer just told me that the Korg dealer in Taiwan isn't offering the Kronos upgrade, and might never be. In that case, what's my best way to upgrade? I wanted the dealer to install the bigger SSD for warranty and convenience purposes, but I'm confident to do the work myself if I have to. My plan has been to mothball the original SSD in any case so that it could be quickly brought online in the event of a disaster.
To do it myself, all I need to do is install one of the SSD's "approved" on this forum, right? And then clean-install 2.0 on the SSD, right? I don't care if I lose whatever settings I've made because it's not much. But it would be nice to hear from a Korg rep here about the best way to go. If the upgrade will come to Taiwan dealers within the next few months, I'd be happy to wait and save myself the labor and potential headaches.
how to upgrade from Taiwan?

It sucks, though, because if I ever need warranty service, I'll have to put it back in original condition. And they might still notice and void my warranty.
Prices here aren't particularly good even on computer equipment made here, like ASUS and HTC. I don't fully understand why. Supposedly you get a lot more service here for your money, which I think is true but I don't have enough info to make an objective judgment.

Upgrading yourself - both the 1Gb memory and the 2nd SSD - is not very difficult. The instructions found on this forum are very helpful for that, both for what to buy, and how to install it. If you are not 100% convinced, any person that knows opening a PC and installing something in there might help you out.
I am certainly not a tech wizard myself, but I got it done easily and without problems
