It locks into the initial note. Midi Guitar (sorry I called it Guitar Synth above) seems to convert notes played on the guitar into MIDI note on/off messages at a fixed velocity. It's pretty limited compared to a proper dedicated hex pickup / guitar synth module, but for 10 bucks it's still a great tool. Playing chords on a guitar and hearing a lush pad swell up underneath is a beautiful thing... and power chords with some Nave patches absolutely kill. I have tried several different setups - direct into Alesis IO Dock (which allows monitoring of the clean guitar through one channel), through a few different amps' line out into the Dock, mixer into Logic amps/fx with mixer channel send back out into the Dock and then into the mixer... fun stuffed_f wrote:Going to have to look into this one. Without pitchbend what does it do? Lock into the initial note? or on bending does it eventually jump to the next note?
I haven't tried it with Audiobus yet, not sure how I'd set it up but will mess with it when I have time.
You'll note that in the link above that there is a beta version for Mac/PC which I haven't tried yet, but I did download it and had a look at the interface which appears to have more parameters. I'll set it up properly and give it a go over the weekend
