The benefit is that Korg won't be liable to a class-action lawsuit.

There is no benefit… Version 2 editor was updated to function with OS 2.2 in Kronos.
My personal opinion, the editor SUX! Disappointment is an understatement.
Won't be fooled again KORG .. sorry, next time the goods will have to be on the table.

If you think like that, there is no benefit of any editor.

Lou, look at the other VSTi editors on your 27inch mac... how do they look? Are they bigger than the KRONOS editor? Can you resize them? Which ones?

The main benefit for me is I'm not hunched over the keyboard getting neck strain, instead I'm staring straight ahead at a comfortable angle.

I should be able to have my 64 bit Cubase open and the editor screen, both easily viewable. I have twin monitors and have parts of Cubase on one and parts on the other. Having to keep leaning forwards to look down at the touch screen and swap between mouse and finger doesn't make for very comfortable use.

From a stand alone viewpoint, a similar thing. If I'm designing/tweaking a sound, much more comfortable to do it leaning back in my chair with the mouse (and a coffee) than hunched over the screen.

I really like the librarian functions, including copy/paste which maintains parent/child relations. Name list export is handy too.

I am not at the machine right now - but some of the long lists of items that are hard to scroll through are much easier with the pull down menus of the editor. Of course typing names is easier. Keeps my fingers off the screen more. There definitely are some conveniences.

As a stand alone editor, all I want is to be able to edit my sounds without being hunched over the screen.

It can be an exact copy of the touch screen and I would still find it very usefull.

Of course it could also be so much more

The one thing I find annoying is what I posted in another thread, the main page pics don't link to the pages. So rather than touching one of the pics on the touchscreen and instantly being in the correct place, in the editor you have to click on numerous tabs which lengthens the workflow.

If they fix that one thing, it would make it 10 times more usable to me
