Kronos Keybed
Hi guys,
Has the keybed problem been completely fixed on the Kronos 73 and 88?
Thanks!

Re: Kronos Keybed
From my (and others) recent experience I would say no, unless you get the X version.digiplay wrote:Hi guys,

Both mine came directly from korg UK, not old retail shock. Both had problems, both had made in Japan stickers on them, both were in the last two months. I now have my third, the X version and am more than happy.

You can see and read examples like the one Ojustaboo relates here all around the world.
The keybed problem Its not completely solved in the current stock yet for sale.

I had the Kronos 61. Sold it because of the fan noise. Got me an X73. Fan noise is barely noticeable, keyboard is fine..
Korg KronosX73, Kurzweil PC3K6, Roland V-Synth GT, Kawai K5000S, Waldorf Blofeld, Novation Ultranova, Behringer Neutron, Yamaha HS80M, Boss Micro BR80, Zoom H6, Sony PCM D100, Tascam DP32SD, Mackie 1202VLZ4, Zoom MS-70CDR, Rode NT1, Sony MDR 7506.
I was just about to start a new thread, then saw this…..
Well folks….yet another one with a keybed problem !
It's only the sgx piano that's affected,as far as I can tell.
A few notes that won't play correctly,as if the hammers aren't "striking" the strings properly (making a comparison in real piano terms etc).
Recording a sequence doesn't show much difference in velocity though, which isn't helping in highlighting the result.
At first I thought it was just me….then the audio amplification route…then the midi…then the sample itself.... then the effects,or other settings etc,but have finally realised there is a fault with the unit.
The notes in question do sound a little dull compared to most of the others, which sound clear and sharp.
This problem may have been lurking in the background for a while, but as I've been concentrating on playing string samples, went un noticed, until recently.
Previously,during quick pieces and chord playing,it wasn't such a problem,but now I'm playing "properly",it's so annoying !!
I mentioned upper notes panning behaviour in another post and compensated with routing through a mixer with a narrower pan etc, found that this and the "note striking" effect goes away when using another keyboard to play the Kronos via midi !!
Oh well……yet another Kronos for a return journey,then…..
Due to the season and other commitments, also ongoing music projects that the Kronos is needed for,(other than piano)I shall wait until a later time before tackling that task.
Probably this will be a problem that may well get worse over time anyway,I would like to know what else that could go wrong in the meantime,if any….??…
Perhaps I should have gone with my third choice after all….(hindsight being wonderful,of course)in buying a 63 key Kronos and a master controller keyboard, but took the chance all would be well with all the current models.
The X version came out a couple of weeks after my purchase, which would have been a further consideration,at that time….
When will all this end....I wonder.
I may return with further comments on this,later......when I calm down a little.....
Best Wishes.

Sorry to hear that Pedro5.
You are not alone with this issue, unfortunately.
Let us know how things are going.
