Hi all.
From Korg User Net
"A Quick Update On Korg Legacy Collection and 64-bit Compatibility
December 19th, 2012
Thank you for your purchase and continued use of the KORG Legacy Collection series.
We are currently in the process of developing native 64-bit versions of Korg Legacy Collection for PC/Mac. Our original plan was to release these updated versions within the 2012 calendar year. In working on this project we have found a great deal of areas where the software can be optimized. Regretfully, we have decided to delay the scheduled release so that we can provide the best product possible to our loyal customers. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and we appreciate your patience.
With our current development schedule, we anticipate the updated, 64-bit versions being released in early 2013. We will provide an updated release date as we are closer to completing this project.
We will of course continue to work on updating the software as we strive to uphold the legacy of these legendary Korg synthesizers.
We thank you for your continued support of Korg and the KLC series products.

This is good news.
A timeless collection of so many uses.
Add an 01W, Trinity and Triton to complete the collection and I'll be really happy.
Regards
Sharp.

I expect it will be free unless they are adding a lot of new content, not just 64-bit compatibility. I would like a better browser on the Wavestation please.

While they are on it they could implement the Mono/Poly for Kronos and iPad. And make some sequencer updates (M3 2.0.4) for the Kronos.

Sadly, Korg doesn't have a good score in my book with promised deadlines recently. Hopefully i'll be proven wrong, but i'm not holding my breath on this announcement.

I would pay a moderate amount to have 64-bit versions.

This confuses me.
Sonicstate.com ran a piece on this being available last week, but then immediately pulled the story of of their Tech news. Why?
Secondly - from the link they provided, I followed into Korg User Net and successfully logged in to do the upgrade - because I already own the Legacy Collection; and Korg told me that I m not eligible for the upgrade even though I have my copy registered. Apparently there is a window within which you had to buy the Legacy Collection, otherwise you are not eligible for the upgrade and have to pay the full price all over again for the 64 bit version.
By the time I went back to confirm this, the Sonicstate piece had been removed and the web page on korguser.net had disappeared.
I sincerely hope Korg are not playing around with arbitrary time lines for this upgrade when they re-release. I paid the full price of the Legacy and would find it difficult to accept having to pay out the full price again while those who bought within an arbitrarily defined time frame get the upgrade free.

Kevin,
The only upgrade info I see on Korg User.net relates to an old upgrade offer from KLC-DE to the full Korg Legacy Bundle. This was from 2010:
https://www.korguser.net/shop/software/ ... /index.asp
Given the Korg UserNet announcement that the 64-bit version will be available in "early 2013", I doubt Korg has set up anything yet:
http://www.korguser.net/Login.asp?LAN=1 ... =&main=136
"Early 2013" to me probably means February at the earliest. I think if Korg was confident about a January release they would have stated January.
Given the Legacy Collection bundle is $199 (U.S.) I doubt Korg would require existing owners to pay full price for the 64-bit upgrade.

Martin -
Korg seem to have made an announcement timing error and retracted it. But I can tell you that I read the Sonicstate piece, successfully followed their link to Korg User Net and logged in, only to find I'm not eligible for the upgrade even though I own and have registered my Legacy Collection.
Subsequently, Sonicstate removed the piece and Korg removed the web page - but the point I'm flagging is that I managed to see the release (admittedly obviously put out in error) - but it definitely revealed to me that unless you bought Legacy Collection after a particular date, you will nto get the upgrade - you will have to pay the full price. I even clicked a link on the page and was issued with a message telling me I am not eligible for the upgrade.
So it very much seems that, once released, only those who bought the Legacy Collection recently will get the upgrade free, the rest of us will have to pay all over again; unless Korg change that in the mean time (and I doubt that).
But to reiterate - I followed the links, logged in, interacted with the upgrade process and was told I'm not eligible and will have to pay; and I expect that to be the same when the release is actually formally announced.
Kevin.

Kevin,
I am not sure that the Korg User Net page you visited was actually complete.
I am still hopeful there will be a reasonable upgrade price.
