Hi Guys,

My Kronos is no longer working with my mac. I have not really used it since it came back for repair and when I tried today I get no midi or audio devices.

I have re-installed the driver, powered everything off, tried different leads, tried different ports on the computer.

When I plug it in the log reads this:

23/12/2012 10:29:26.000 kernel[0]: USBF: 147.546 [0xffffff802a99ee00] The IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying. (Port 1 of Hub at 0x40200000)

Anyone had this before?

Thanks for any help

Kronos back from repair. Did you check the OS version?

Yeah they updated it.

I can see the Kronos in the list of attached USB devices but the driver just wont work :(

Now getting this:

Tried now with a windows laptop, a mac laptop and a MacPro nothing works.

I'm beginning to get sick and tired of this keyboard.

Time for some midi cables to be laid I think.

I have very limited knowledge with these things,so the following may be well off the mark.....just some thoughts.

Does the Kronos show up in the usb list in System Information on the mac ?
Also check the audio/midi set up utility and try adding it as a new device.

It may be worth trying your own installation of the latest kronos o/s as well.

Good Luck !

Thanks for the post, my bet is that it is just broken though as I cannot get it to work with three different computers and an iPad.

Just another thing to add to the list of hate that I am getting for this keyboard.

I have a Kronos 61 and I often have problem
with the USB (midi) connection, either on Mac
or PC.

The kronos does not appear in the instrument list
in Reaper or Garageband.

I had to re install the driver many times,
plug an unplug the USB wire........

Problems I do not have with my MOX8 or
my iPad 4

Have you tried a new USB cable? If your Kronos is not being recognized I would start here.

Do you get any kind of MIDI IO on either of the Kronos MIDI ports (like a USB thumb drive)?

As I said before I have tried different leads and different computers.

The Kronos is recognised by the computers (at a USB level) but the midi and audio doesn't work.

The best I have got is the mac laptop being able to send midi to the kronos, midi was not received though and audio was corrupt.

This was all working perfectly before it went to Korg for them to mend some issues (which they didn't) and install new ram and a new HD.

To be quite honest I have just had enough of this keyboard, its going up for sale and I will take the hit of the lost money, it has become the most hated bit of kit I have ever purchased, I will not be buying anything from Korg again.

Sorry to hear that. I know you are probably tired of dealing with it all, but if it's any consolation, my K61 went in for repairs (due to " system startup failure") and the end result is that they sent me a whole new K61.

I experienced a similar problem due to a broken USB cable...

Thanks for the advise but I do wonder if you have read any of the thread?

Final point, and then I will be done with this. being as the unit just came back from the service upgrade, it is possible technician did not fully seat a USB header somewhere on the motherboard. or some other physical hardware deficiency.
