My rearrangement/cover of the Peter Gabriel song. All sounds from the Kronos (short of my mediocre vocals)

Music arrangement is great. Vocals need some compression, very hard to make out in most places and they get really loud in other places. If you don't have access to a stand alone compressor, don't forget you can route your vocals through the Kronos.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yea, this is the first time I've ever tried to mix vocals. I figure it's going to take me a while to get a good routine around. An audio engineer friend of mine gave me some suggestions for using multiple compressors in series. I figure this gives me something to play around with.

Another thing is to use the compressor that is EQ based in the kronos. I'm not in my studio right now so I can't look it up but I like it because you can use it selectively on various frequencies and words that have strong high frequencies can be controlled without effecting things that don't need it.
Compression can be very useful. I strongly recommend looking online about it.
It helps make me sound good!

Very well done... and I'm a huge PG fan (got tickets to see him at the O2 London next Oct!!). As already mentioned, the vocals could do with coming up though probably don't need much more than an increase in volume and a good fast compressor with a moderate ratio... I think it's more a case of you not feeling confident enough in your vocal performance to put them higher in the mix... no need to worry on that score, your vocals are FAR from "mediocre" and actually sounded very similar to PG himself in parts.
...and very well done on getting the melody on the line "in your Daddy's arms" right, as I know that's an unexpectedly tricky line to get right

Good job. The piano sounds really good in the middle part of the song. Keep them coming!

Just a suggestion -- the piano part sounds like it was played freely -- with no click -- some parts are a little rhythmically off.

Lovely! Don't dismiss your vocals on this track; they're great. I could use them higher in the mix!

Good job, though I'd personally prefer no piano.
It's a delicate song and you could completely eliminate the piano, IMHO, as it seems crashy..........seems to add an unwanted rhythm.
Well done though

+1
Interesting arrangement.
Lifting the vocal might actually soften the (occasionally) slightly brash piano.

I think it sounds great... the vocals sound great but they should be a bit louder in a few places.. (actually pretty much everywhere).
