Karma Question

Hi All, We are about to get hammered by 18-24 inchs of the white stuff here in Boston starting Friday Am so I have decided to try my hand at a little combi programming. I am starting with Gentle Guitar SW1,2. I tweaked a few things but now I need to have only Karma effect the notes I play below C3 on the Guitar programs. I still want to hear the guitars above C3 when played but not have them effected by Karma. I looked for some type of MIDI range for the Karma but could not find it. If someone could point me in the right direction please, I would be delighted! Thank you.

If you look on the KARMA -> GE Setup/Key Zones tab; the blue bars at the top of the screen display show what keyboard ranges are triggering KARMA for each module. You can adjust these in the 'zone' checkboxs, so that the module playing your Guitar timbre will only be triggered below the split point (the blue bar area).

Thanks for your response, however when I change the top keyzone to C4 it kills the guitar completely from C4 up, not just the Karma?

Have you tried ticking the the 'timbre thru' box for the guitar module?

HI Sparker, I could not find anything that said Tumbre Thru but I found Tibre Zone Bypass but that didn't work. Any other Ideas.. I am stumped!

The parameter you need to apply is Thru Out Z (set to on) which you'll find on KARMA tab, GE Setup/Key Zones subtab.

Indeed, that parameter is just below the key range you just defined.

That parameter, Thru Out Z means that the notes you play outside the key zone will be directly sent to the tone generator. Additionally, if you activate the parameter Thru In Z, you'll hear both the KARMA phrases and the notes you press.

Make sure to activate the parameter for the module that is playing the Guitar.

Another possible issue may be that the keybed is transmitting on a different MIDI channel, which doesn't match the MIDI Channel assigned to the Guitar Program.

Thanks MarPabl, that seemed to work. This Karma stuff is pretty cool stuff but pretty complicated for me anyway.
