New contact strips -

I have sourced replacement contact strips, which are stated for use with LP350, M50, SV1, M388, SP250, and Kronos
I need to know if these standard Korg aftermarket strips are what are provided by Korg for those K's that had the double strike, and note cutoff issues.....
OR were they a "special" type exclusively for the K's that showed these problems?
Thanks
PS: also asked in another thread, but as it is a finished thread with a few posts already, it may not get seen...

Hi miden
if your contacts are pink, they need changing for blue ones.......thats all I can add

Thanks RM.
The ones I was looking at buying are grey...not blue so further investigation may be needed.

Thanks RM - the source I have is cheaper, but it looks to be the same part. As you can see they are not blue....
Trouble is the Korg dealer in Australia only got it in December 2012 and their tech guys have not really had any training on Korg gear, not to mention the lack of parts is astounding!!!!
I think I may have to try a direct call to Korg US to ascertain what colour they need to be, blue of these grey coloured ones...
Although they may see i am from Australia and refuse to help telling me to contact Korg Australia (these guys C.M.I.) I am talking about. But I have already called them and they do not have a clue really.....not their fault because of reasons above, and they are usually pretty good with stuff they KNOW about
Anyway unless I can get a 100% confirmation from someone on the forum on the actual colour, even if only to confirm definitely NOT pink!!!
I am 99% sure the greys will be fine....but you know, when you pull it apart to do these things, one only wants to do it once, especially as I will be replacing the fan and adding ram at the same time...
Thanks again for all your help
Dennis

Just to confuse you some more
The colour is irrelevant. The original Kronos had pink contacts and korg ordered blue ones to replace them, just to help the service centres keep track etc (that is what Korg UK told me)
The later Kronos with the fixed keybed and the Kronos X (which as far as I know has never suffered from the note cutoff problem) all have pink contacts.
But
I wonder if there is a difference. It seems odd that they would make different coloured parts that are very hard to see, they're not noticeable unless you say shine a torch on the gaps in between keys, so its not like a colour range is needed.
I wonder if possibly the colour represents the strength/hardness of the contacts and korg temporarily changed to another colour due to a quality problem with the pink ones hence made the keybed action a bit different?
I'm not saying its true, just seems odd to have different colours for a hidden item for no reason.

Yep I agree -

on the confusion angle, and why Korg used different colours...
Looking in the key cracks on mine the little locator lugs are pink so I guess the rest is pink...serial # is 1895 so it IS an early one...
All very confusing
It was suggested to me recently that using a standard sustain pedal and NOT the DS1H half pedalling one from Korg may also cause note cut-offs

Yes Pedro, a friend is sending me a DS1H so I should know in a couple of days - I might wait on ordering until I have tried it..

Thanks David I had NOT seen that one - okay I will go ahead and order them- after testing first with the half damper pedal.
In a way note cut offs caused by using a simple on/off pedal for programs that are programmed for half pedaling seems to make sense and I have only really noticed it with the pianos so far...
Still I might even do them anyway, I mean I will be opening it up to do the fan and other stuff as I said, doing contacts is pretty straightforward...
Cheers
