Hi,
I'd like to know your preferences about headphones for use with Pa3x. I actually use a AKG 701 however there is a problem with the left cup so I have to change it. I'd like to have the best sound possible, which also shouldn't be distorted at higher volumes. I have a Grado SR80, a favorite of mine for music listening, however I don't really like how the piano sounds with it (it seems to be a little bass heavy). I also don't know the impedence of Pa3x, while I am quite sure it won't be able to drive a Sennheiser HD 650. Another favorite of mine, the Sennheiser HD 595 would be easier to drive but mine is broken and it is hard to find a new one.
Thank you very much for your answers.

Hi,
it's really a matter of taste, so keep this as "my" experience.
I have an AKG 240 and like it. If you went well with your 701 you can also consider those two models. You know the sound and you are safe.
I had the opportunity to test a Sennheiser HD650 in a megastore side by side with other headphones (Sony, Panasonic, Philips) and it was by far the best. I did not test anyway this phone with well know song (to my ears) but I believe that even without this very specific test it is a very good deal.
Another hit it is for sure the Beyerdynamic 250 heard in very different situations in a close friend studio. Not really comfortable, in case you use headphones for very long time, but sound great.
Hope this help.
Cheers
