CX3 engine through a 145 leslie

If anyone is interested in trying to get the best out of their Kronos CX3 engine in their Kronos, here is a great video of the Kronos CX3 through a 145 leslie.

This video was taken off the Crumar website, and it's an advertisement for their new Midi Rotary Control box, which is a device that can be used to change rotary speeds on a real leslie, or a leslie sim like the Ventilator, using Midi control from the host keyboard.

Great video and great example of how good the CX3 engine can sound, with a better rotary sim and real tube preamp.. BTW the CX3 engine sounds almost as good through a Ventilator leslie pedal as well.

Enjoy. Craig

That is cool, sadly I'm a pipe organ, theater organ kind of guy. Probably the first thing I will try to tweak. Still that link is cool! Thanks!

Thanks for sharing! I'm hoping one of the organ guys will post a comparison using the ventilator vs the leslie using the Kronos CX3, :)

Just wondering when that vector joystick is gonna break off... There is no way I think I'd assign the Leslie switch to that....especially considering how much most organist reach for it and the force at which some flip it.

There's not much point in doing that. Once you record or otherwise mic a Leslie you compromise the sound. The Ventilator actually does a great job of simulating a mic'd Leslie. However, a live Leslie moving air becomes less comparable to the Vent when heard in person.

I use the Ventilator live with the Kronos, and have a Leslie 145 at home. As much as I love the Leslie at home it would not compete with the band live without mic'ing it. That makes the Vent more practical.

Until I got the Kronos last September I was using the software VB-3 for organ. The CX-3 engine could be improved...

That was a great video. It sent me looking at all kinds of things. I'd love to see Joey DeFrancesco on a Kronos!
