My Eyes!!

I can't look at the tiny screen font without getting a headache each time trying to program anything on the Kronos. Is there anything that can be done about this? That's right, I'm old. :(

I know. Totally gets me too.
You could use the official editor on a bigger computer screen. The windows can't be sized at will, but could be made bigger by lowering the resolution on your screen a bit.
In case you are programming the AL-1 or Polysix engines I could also shamelessly plug the graphical editor that I hacked up last year (Windows only, I'm afraid). Link in my signature, in case you're interested. So far I haven't been programming the Kronos nearly as much as I intended, been playing guitar mostly, but I kind of like the GUI editor for the al1 at least.

Cheers,
C

Sometimes reading glasses don't help though, depending on the strength needed.

Fine if your putting them on to read a book but not fine if your glancing at a small screen for ten seconds then looking at big sliders and piano keys.

I'm lucky (I say lucky) in that my eyesight is so bad I need vari focals which means I can just move my head depending on what I'm looking at, but they're expensive and shouldn't be needed just to use your synth.

Even those have their problems, to read the Kronos screen I have to look through the bottom of my vari focals, which means I have to lean further forward than most and lift my head up at a painful angle (if I'm looking at the screen for anything but a very short time) to look at the screen through the correct part of my glasses.

In sequencer mode it would be nice to turn the midi track page into 2 pages of 8 tracks like the Triton etc. but yes, at 45 I'm on varifocals, and it's only gonna get worse, my dads on some serious strength lenses

I have not used this myself so I can't provide any reviews but maybe something like this would help.

I went to the pound shop in the uk and bought glasses that are like magnified glasses and you can see very well at the korg Kronos screen. But I only use them when using the screen, otherwise they could give you a headache.
Can’t understand why korg never let us use the video out port on the motherboard to a bigger screen :?

Has anyone a rurally tried the out for a monitor? Or looked at the specs of the display to look for larger plug and at options? Just curious.

Is this something that COULD be addressed in an update? The resolution? Or actual size of the data on the screen?

I considered suggesting something like this but after seeing it used on the iPhone it seems like less of a solution for the Kronos. Look how awkward the guys hand has to e position to manipulate the screen on the iPhone....

Doesn't look like too much fun to me.

What good would the monitor be? Unless of course you could touch the monitor and manipulate the Kronos....

Even with a monitor you still have to look back at the Kronos and touch the actual Kronos screen in order to change what you see on the external monitor.

I suggest you to mount a big loupe over the screen, just the place to move
your finger under 8)

That problem has been notice to Korg
since the release of the Kronos, but
they don't seem to give a ...

I tried a Khrome last week and the information
on the monitor was very easy to read,
so why not the Kronos

Is it that hard to split the informations on
to two pages ?

You can add to that the angle vision problem
that you experience when you are not in a
perfect reading position ( I have a double
keyboard stand Mox88 bottom Kronos top)
when a site I can't see nothing on the Kronos
monitor.

Not much hope Korg will do something about
that.

Krome doesn't have NEAR as much information on the screen as the Kronos does...
