Kaoss Pad Help Loading Samples

Post by hiphopsinclaire »

Hey I am using the Kaoss Pad for loop based music. I have loaded some drum loops on an sd card. It is the proper one (I found out you have to get the oldschool just plain sd card no more than 2gigs). When I scrolls through the loops to load into a bank, Only like 4 or 5 actually work. It says I should be able to scroll though 0 - 99. I can only get 0 - 12 and in that a bunch of numbers are missing. What's up? Anybody? I'd really appreciate it.

Did you format the card? Try doing that first, and make sure you do it on the KP3 and not on another device like your pc.

Also, technically you can use any size SD card but the unit will not read more than 100 samples at a time, and using more than 2gb will not make any difference.

The other thing you want to make sure of is that you are using the correct sample extensions. I believe the KP3 takes .wav and .aif files. Additionally, they need to be a two digit file extension (00.wav, 01.wav, etc. etc.) You can consult the manual for further info:

May some of your loops are to long
or dont have the correct audio specifications
or have wrong file names.

SD card has to be a non-HC one.
I guess HCSD cards were not yet available at the time when KP3 cames out.
