If you want to sound like you are playing a guitar you have to think like a guitar player and understand guitar techniques, some of which are difficult to reproduce with a keyboard.

Sounds for accoustic guitars on the Kronos are plenty. Just check out the program categories. Some STR-1 programs are really convincing, but this my personal taste to be clear.
IMO the excellent guitar sounds of the Kronos do not need any fancy FX-ing. A little reverb to produce space and an adequate EQ to match the mix should be sufficiant to give a natural sound.
If you want to know how guitar strumming can be achieved you should check out a recently posted thread ...

check out the Karo nylon guitar sounds
I bought them a month ago..Very nice!!
I actually just got some tracks forwarded from TAXI music using just that sound.. solo guitar... nothing else
I agree.... like any other sound, it's not just about the quality of the sample
You have to play as a guitarist would..trumpet, strings, whatever it is..
if you're just plunking out chords, it's not gonna sound like the instrument you're trying to emulate.
good luck...enjoy
If I have time, I'll post the Karo guitar sound so you can hear it

I'm a guitar player, too, so I'm not easily impressed by the guitar sounds produced by a keyboard. It's just too hard to reproduce the dynamics that a guitarist can produce with the real thing. While the casual listener may not notice, the Kronos guitars, to me, just don't do much to compete with a real 6-string guitar.

I think that's true with just about any instrument. A real _____ player (fill in the blank) will not be convinced with any of the samples for that instrument. Of course, if they can play keyboard, they can make that sample sound better than your average keyboard player. However, most of the population isn't really going to be noticing the differences like a real _____ player would.

I completely agree with this. It's definitely a matter of preference, but the number of engines available for working acoustic nuances plus having a full-blown KARMA engine can make for some very convincing- or at least fun to play and nice to listen to- acoustic sounds. If samples are your thing there are certainly plenty of those available (or sample your own

), but I recommend STR-1 and taking a tour of the available KARMA GE's to start with.
Heck, whatever it's got has to be better than the factory "acoustic guitar" sound from the Roland Alpha-Juno!
Cheers and good luck!
