Triton Extreme Freezing / Hanging

Hi:

Been having a few issues with my ageing Triton Extreme 61 freezing and hanging after being switched on for a while, though it froze twice at a gig on Saturday night, and is fine after a reboot, but mid-set it's a bit of a pain to reload samples and sequences whilst trying to play!

I should imagine it's an overheating issue and my board just needs a good clean!

Has anybody else had this problem?

There's a lot that can go wrong with low voltage - you'll know if that's the case if you see a "blue screen" and the usual play screen disappears.

Heat could be a problem, bright stage lights shining directly on the board can raise the internal temperature considerably (melted a panel on my old 01Wfd!).

Internal boards may also be warping slightly, enough to gap some contacts which could make a freeze happen.

If your extreme's never been serviced it might be worth a shot to have it looked over, sucked out and tightened up.

Thanks for the reply - that was my thinking too.

I'll give it a go...
