Dumb Newber Question: Synth Engines
Thanks in advance for any answers... your patience is greatly appreciated!
I recently purchased a used Kronos, and am looking to create new sounds from scratch. My goal was to "turn on" the polysix and twist knobs. But so far, I can't seem to find the polysix "section". I do notice that the default patches often contain some information regarding the synth engine used to create the sound, but they don't appear to be organized in that fashion.
Is there a way I can just pick an engine and then punch in what I want from there? Thanks again!

I'm the new guy. Thus, I welcome your beatings. I can only hope to one day be as cool as you.

I really found the online manual to be of HUGE help in getting through things like this. It IS busy....but Adobe reader can search the term you are looking for and makes it a breeze to move on.

It might be a good idea to "crack" the OP & PG. maybe even the Basic Guide first.Nihilist Youth wrote:ED: Ok, figured it out. Apparently, you need to specifically select an "init EXi program" for it to allow those selections. Sigh... so confusing, being awake this time of the day.

You are, of course, more than welcome to find a suitable patch which already contains the elements you want and copy it to an initialized patch slot. I prefer this method since I usually have some idea in mind as I'm scrolling through the sounds.
Just use the context menu (the top-right drop-down arrow) and choose to write the program. It will prompt you for the name, slot, category and subcategory then you're on your way. Don't forget to backup your sounds to USB or at least the built-in HDD often!
Cheers!

I thought there would be a screen page containing the different synth engines and I simply clicked on say the polysix, and up it came.
But it's easy once your used to it.
Might want to download Dongfangs tone adjust template, it sits over the knobs and sliders so you instantly know what they all do for the Polysix
