Automatically change combi's while playing. Possible?

A friend told me that Korg has a functionality to automatically change combi's while playing. He said you could program the keyboard to recognize the amount of chords played and go to the next combi if so. However, he forgot how it worked.
This would be a great feature, but I can hardly imagine how this works.
Does anybody know if this is really possible?

It's not. You could program a sequence with program changes though, but it'd always switch after however many bars you told it to. Or you could use a footswitch to advance through setlist slots. Most likely that's what he meant, there are a couple of demo's on YouTube using it.

I thought so. Pity.... Then if your would do this within the sequencer, you would need the drummer in the band to use a click track?

The point is that I use a footswitch already

but I want to make my life as a musician easier.
And i know that many drummers use a clicktrack, but we don't want that. We like to go with the flow while playing live....

Until now, we have been able to avoid the clicktrack which makes live performance so much more artificial.

I don't like bands using a clicktrack (sorry no offense though), before you know it keyboard players start using sequencer parts instead of playing everything live and it's the start of just playing an MP3 on stage.
About foot switches, I don't hope I will be seen as a Behringer advertiser, but there are MIDI foot board pedals that contain like 2-10+ switches and 2 pedals ... you can program them to serve as a controller (i.e. like a knob, ribbon controller, expression, SW1, SW2 or other functions).
One of my 10 switches is assigned as program up.

Can you use the expression pedals to control filters...like in wah situation? How controllable is it? I seriously am considering adding a pedal assortment like this...if it is the one that is widely advertised...

Michel, I have studied the FP1010 as well as an option, but unfortunately this board has no sustain/damper pedal. Otherwise it would be a great thing to replace my current setup.

I try to use a m-audio expression pedal, but it really dont suit me. It dont respond as i thought it will be. So on one hand solos I use the joystick, if I need both hands on the keyboard I assign the wah effect (for example, also the rotatory organ effect) to aftertouch, i found this a lot easier

Is changing the patch with a foot switch really making being a musician any harder. If you have thought out your patches well I cant see how changing patches with a FS is ever going to take away from musicality....

You would if you would play the complex progressive rockmusic in the style we do
Sometimes I need to switch combi's up to 15 times in a song and I need to rehearse a lot to remember when exactly I have to change sounds. The stress that you would miss a switch is distracting during playing. Moreover, I sometimes only have a few nanoseconds to switch

this sounds much better than having 15 different keyboards

That's what I mean and that's why I traded my other boards for the Kronos!!!!

I play progressive too. Maybe you can change the polarity of the switch pedal, so when you release the pedal the program/combi changes.
For some people is better to hold the pedal while you are playing and when you need the change just release it.
