Okay so yeah, I've had my eyes on this ever since I first saw it at Ken Stanton for $450 plus tax, but waited. Dang am I glad I waited!!

I picked one up at a local pawn shop for $130 bucks with the manual and a usb to midi cable as well.

But okay I've had very few lessons ages ago when I was a kid, so yeah, I'm looking to learn to play as well either self taught or professionally, might consider pro, if they could teach me how to take full advantage of this keyboard.

So I was wondering which is the best and most user friendly software, Cubase, Cakewalk or Fruity Loops and maybe even Audiacity? I've never once really dived into one of these applications and messed with them either.

Is there any good keyboard/piano teaching software that's recommended or regarded as better than the rest?

Yup I'm starting completely from scratch! I know the key thing is to adapt.

I think Fruity would be a good first choice: it's reasonably priced and comes with enough built-in instruments to expand your sonic palette which will probably be key when learning to play the keyboard.

Definitely get yourself a good USB/MIDI interface (the M-Audio Uno is a good one, e.g.). I'd also recommend doing a quick YouTube search. Even if you don't find a good free bunch of lessons (which you probably will ) you'll have a frame of reference to start from when deciding what level you're at and how to proceed.

Good luck and enjoy! Can't wait to start hearing your tracks! :)
