Are we still allowed to discuss the RH3 problems?

I got my RH3 problems solved by changing the system. So this topic is no major concern to me anymore.
But people who want to discuss their problems or opinions should be allowed to do so.

I think the admins are suppressing every new thread (after a while, say two pages) and send us to the sticky one.
But that one is supposed to be about the Solution, not new or imagined problems.
Let's use this thread to post information regarding the Kronos RH3 fix thread.

PLEASE ONLY POST IF YOU HAVE HAD THE REPAIR PERFORMED ON YOUR KRONOS.

If this is like other repairs, Korg will have created a document for their Authorized Service Center technicians that describes the fix.

PLEASE POST:
1. When and where you had the repair performed
2. Which model (73 or 88 )
3. Any information you were told about the specific repair made
4. The results -- did the fix work?
5. Serial Number (optional)
So what options does Sharp et al. leave us?
Not talking about it or hijacking the only available thread?

I think it´s ok to have the sticky thread only about the solution and their outcome. That leaves the conclusion to let the discussions go on without closing them prematurely. Or just open a sub forum called "Klagemauer" or Book of Grudges for complainers like me. ;)[/quote]

What do you mean "changing the system"?

Sax,

It could be that many of the posts are basically, "I cannot believe Korg is not on top of this..." or "A top corporation like Korg..." or "Sorry Korg, I am done..." kind of posts. That is counter-productive to solving the issue. I know that "discussing" the issue helps a lot of us (myself included, though I never post about it) blow off some steam. And I do see from your posts that one issue fix leads to another problem.

There are a few posters here, like yourself, who have had extreme issues. And I agree that Korg should step up and properly fix the issues. But that has been said and said, and said, over again. Unless someone has a new suggestion, there is not much need for discussion threads...unless you want to create a "who has this problem [poll]" thread just so we don't feel alone, heh.

I think that if someone buys a new Kronos and gets a bad keyboard a new thread should be started. That way we are immediately aware that the bad boards are still out there and there is still a problem. But I think that starting a new thread just to continue an existing complaint is counter productive. Post those to a common thread if you need to get it off your chest.

Most threads get closed for 1 of 2 reasons.

1. The thread is repeating what has been said in another thread.
2. People start arguing and the thread is closed to prevent further arguments.

Unfortunately most new threads on the keybed issue fall under one of the above 2 categories.

I can assure you that there is no conspiracy to stop you from talking about it but we just don't want the forum spammed with the same posts over and over again.

If a new member wants to find out about the keybed issue then there is plenty of information available to them. I'd rather have it all in one place than 50 different threads for them to fish through.

Ok. It seems I got a bit paranoid.
Will work on that by playing more piano and not argue so much in the future. Maybe I got too emotional. Will drop that topic now.
Thanks for the responses and the nice picture from runningman67. Isn´t that the seven samurai? I only see six. WTF is the seventh doing. ;)

Hehe.

I think they've been very good at letting those of us that bought a Kronos and had problems, discuss it.

I rambled on for pages in my threads :)

It's more when someone posts a thread like "is it safe to buy a Kronos", the thread always ends up pointless with people like me and sax on one side giving our experiences and people like Greg on the other side so to speak giving their experience.

Both viewpoints are valid but these threads do always have the same few people on both sides saying the same things we've all said 100 times before.

Hence I'm not surprised they get closed pretty quickly.

That said, if I was a potential purchaser and I'd researched the Kronos, I would very likely come onto this forum, see no recent posts about problems and think myself valid in asking if the problems non existant now.

Bit of a catch 22 situation as I can imagine almost every long time forum member could name the posters and what their responses would be to such a question.

On the bright side, those people saying theyve bought a new kronos and it has the keybed cutoff problem are getting very rare now.

I have a friend who owns a Kronos 61, but is thinking of buying a K88. If he buys a used one and ends up with the weighted keyboard problem, is it fixed by replacing the contacts?

Secondly, does Korg make this key bed or a third party?

in the US , I don't believe the warranty is transferrable from the original owner. your friend should be aware of that. Go to the sticky for your other question or simply have him call his local korg service center for the best info.
