Hello from Texas. I have been a fan of the Korg Workstations since the early 90's when I got my first X3. Since then I've had one other X3 and now I just have an O1W/fd. Hoping to be able to get some information out of you all. I have a manual for it in PDF form, but need to get it printed out. For some reason it just seems so much more difficult to work off of a computer monitor.

I sing in a band and play a little guitar and keyboard with the band as well. I would be playing more keys but would like to get mine sorted out first. I have also written several songs and have only recently gotten my home studio set up, so I hope to be putting the O1W/fd to work for that purpose

I'll be seeing y'all in the forums!

Norton, welcome to forums! Where in Texas are you located? My parents used to live in Harlingen so I've been all up and down from Brownsville/South Padre/McAllen to Corpus Christi- love the coast!

The T- and X-series are probably what originally got me into the idea of workstations in the first place. We had T2 workstations in our music lab in college (coupled with Band-in-a-Box software on Macintosh Classics) and right after college I remember becoming enamored with the X-series. The tones were out of this world! Never did pick up an X2 or X3 and I really wanted an N-series badly when they came out so I settled on an NS5R with its massive polyphony (and 32-part multitimbrality- how cool was that?).

I've since sold the NS5R and my more recently acquired O1/W ProX (all 500lbs of it ) to get a Kronos 61 and haven't looked back since! (Though I do miss [Manimals] on the NS!).

Welcome aboard and sorry for the longwinded welcome, I was just waxing nostalgic! :) Cheers!

I'm in Burton now, about 20 miles west of Brenham, home of Bluebell Ice Cream. I'm originally from the RGV, born in Edinburg and raised in in McAllen.

Thanks for the welcomes all!

So you're about midway between Houston and Austin. I haven't had Bluebell in a minute! (It's been a few years). How do Tecate and Sol (the beer, not the ice cream ) sell up in your neck of the woods?

Cheers!

It's mostly Shiner Bock around here, though I've been on Lone Star for several months now. Corona for Mexican beer around here. This area has a huge German and Czech population.

Shiner was definitely a staple where I was visiting. I believe it was the Germans in your area who helped popularize donuts in America! Mmmm, beer and donuts! :)

Cheers!
