While the effect you're getting sounds the same, your way of producing it is unlike any others I've heard (or experienced). The notorious keybed issue was the result of the hammer double striking and most often occurred with soft key strokes, and most often in the lower registers. You mention it does not happen at all if you repeatedly strike the same key, but almost certainly happens if you play a quick flurry of notes. That leads me to believe it is not "the" keybed issue, but it's certainly not ok. Service surely is your best option now.
I occasionally get the same issue - but I have a K61.
I've never had it when playing the instrument on it's own, but when I use it at church I sit it on the Korg C520 (which has an RH3 keybed!) and MIDI it through. Intermittently, while playing using the German piano I have had it suddenly sound muted, as if someone has put their hand on the piano strings. It's very weird, and I have concluded that it is probably related to something via MIDI. (I get other strange problems if I select dual sounds on the piano too.)
I will try turning off the half pedal options on the programs I use to see if that helps as I don't have a pedal with that feature.
Thanks
DB

...why say more?
Thanks for all replies guys - I'm 90% sure it's the keybed problem. I was playing some lower-register notes with an organ sound and it was double-sounding or double-striking, whatever you want to call it. That and the muted sound I get from the piano sounds (and others) and there you have it.
I have talked to the guy at the closest service center in Brunswick GA and he has not dealt with the keybed issue yet, which makes me a little nervous. But it's a 2 hour drive vs. 4 1/2 to Atlanta to a bigger svc. center. I think I'll check Brunswick out first.
Love this forum. Great support and knowledge here.
