if the mixtrack is anything like my old hercules controller (ie it has an internal 2in 2 out soundcard) then you can use the Kpro on an input (but this disables that deck in you DJ software) or you can use it on your main output to catch snips of samples or add sounds to the outgoing signal... however using the Kpro on the output you wont hear anything from the Kpro in your headphones and wont be able to record the sounds within the DJ software (Virtual DJ LE?)
you'd have to run the audio signal from the Kpro to a mixer/hifi/speakers to hear the DJ software audio + Kpro audio.
Seeing as the DJ software audio will most likely be handled by the soundcard in the Mixtrack you will be able to run the audio from the Kpro back into your pc in order to record it (using software such as Audacity). (I did this with my Hercules controller and Kaoss Pad 3 but there was MAJOR latency issues.. ie the sound i was hearing from my PC was delayed quite considerably compared to the audio in my headphones.. making it near impossible to do 2-ear cueing between headphone cue signal and main audio signal)
in summary (if the mixtrack you have has audio outs)
mixtrack -> RCA-RCA-cable -> KPro
KPro ->RCA-RCA-cable -> mixer/amp OR
KPro ->RCA-3.5mm-cable -> PC audio input.

Thanks for taking the time to answer.
The Mixtrack Pro II has two audio outs (red/white standard phone) - for left and right.
It also has two headphone outputs - one small and one large jack.
It has no input I can see other than Mic input.
I was kind of hoping I could take the two outputs and connect them via a 2-1 adapter into the Mini Kaoss Pad and use the output from the MKP to the speakers allowing me to DJ on the Mixtrack as normal, but using the MKPs excellent touchpad for sound effects.

You can do that, just that if you then record that mix in the DJ software it'll be the unaffected mix and none of the Kp fx will be included.
