no userbank.ksc file

Post by marcdeben »

How do you load sample files from the download section here if they do not come with a userbank.ksc file. Usually I copy the entire unzipped folder to the SSD and load the userbank.ksc into ram then open the PCG file and audition the sounds. I then load the pcgs I like into a user bank and auto load the userbank in globle. What if it has no userbank.ksc file. I tried loading the KSC file but it didn't work. I must be missing a step. Any help would be most apprieciated! Thanks

I too downloaded some sounds that came with a pcg file only. I assumed they don't need external samples and don't need ksc files. Just using the internal ROM samples or the expansion samples. I only load the pcg and that's it.

The ones I downloaded do have Multisamples. There are alot that just use the preload samples though. Hopefully someone will set me straight on this. Thanks!

Hello,

Patches created for first Kronos OS or for Oasys there are not a "stream process", so you need to load this patches to Kronos RAM and afther that converted to "Stream".

There are tutorials here on forum related to this focus, and off course the manual provide all details....but the main steps are:

- Load the KSC file (no UserBank) => Use "Clear Sampling Mode Data" - Samples will be loaded into RAM;
- Load the PCG file => Note the PROGs are using the RAM as MultiSample
If you enjoy it....It's possible, save it as a "userbank".... Disk => Save Sampling data => Set Sampling mode data and All Multisamples => Give a name.
- Now re-load the new file (userbank) and re-save a PCG file.

Thanks Rubinho, I totally forgot about the old OS. It all comes back to me now! I didn't do much with samples before now but I am starting to get into it now! A lot to learn but with some of the sounds I'm hearing it is worth the learning curve! Thanks again!
