I am busy editing Combi patches but can't seem to figure out how to edit the 8 Karma scenes allocated to each patch. All changes in instrumentation seem to occur across the board. Help with this would be appreciated.

The quick start manual that was provided with my Kronos is not cutting it. I need a better reference. Perhaps a DVD tutorial.

my guess is that you are modifying the Master scenes, when you create a new scene (or modify an existing one) you can modify each KARMA module for that scene.

To do this:
- press the scene button you want to modify
- go to the KARMA page on your touchscreen (or press the KARMA Module control button on your kronos)
- there you see 5 names : M, A, B, C, D
- now select A
- when you change the knobs, faders dials, you are only modifying the KARMA A module for that scene.
- now select B
- do it again, etc...

This way you can customize each module for each scene.

if i recall correctly there are some guides that Stephen Kay has written on his Karmalab WIKI. So maybe it's wise to check that WIKI for that.

Thanks Qui, you are very helpful as you often are. My present issue is that one of the Karma scenes for a combi patch I am editing is perfect except for a muddy sounding bass riff that sounds great in the other Karma scenes. I don't need to change the karma parameters but instead need to address the muddy bass line frequency...the low end has little articulation. Can other non Karma based parameters be edited using the sequence you have described? Can a different bass guitar be selected for that Karma Scene only?

You can assign any bass guitar (or any sound for that matter) to the timbre that uses that GE. Just change the sound in the combi timbre, the setup for KARMA won't be effected by that change.

If that bass sounds good in the other scenes and you would like to keep it, you can transpose the bass up an octave for that one scene. That might get rid of the mud. You set it at KARMA performance RTP page.

Set Group to: Mix
Parameter: Transpose Octave
Min: 0000
Max: +0012
Assign: I like to use KARMA switches 5,6,7 or 8 for this. If the bass is on module 1, then choose switch 5. Module 2/Switch 6 and so on…..
