Greetings from Heidelberg (Germany)

Post by TheWolf »

After I have been doodling and tooting around for more or less exactly 30 years on my good old Poly 800 I thought it may be time to check whether Korg has developed something new an worthwhile to spend the next 30 years playing around with.

Having stalked this forum for approximately two years as anonymous reader, I have come to the conclusion that, indeed, the Kronos X may fit not only my imagination of an awesome synthesizer but also my current account balance. So I took the liberty to order one from my local dealer and am currently waiting for it to arrive.

I have to admit that I am only a mediocre keyboard player at best (just enough skills for doodling and tooting around at home -- the limited keyboard of the Poly 800 not really being conductive to good two-handed playing technique). I dare to claim, however, some experience in building sounds from scratch not only using simple analogue subtractive synthesis but also using more complex syntheses using the sound programming language Csound.

So, my two main interests with my future Kronos X will be, on the one hand, to improve my playing skills and, on the other hand, to dig deeply into its synthesizer engines and then tickle them as well as possible -- of course also by importing waveforms created with the help of Csound.

So, greetings to everyone from Heidelberg (Germany)
Wolfgang
