The style sets are coming up as an error in loading. If the attempt is made to load the .set the PA reports it is not a PA file, and further, they will not load.
If a DirectHD slot is chosen, the load screen keeps defaulting back to the slot 1, bank 1 Factory Styles.
The PA1 does allow a user slot to be selected, however after loading (and with NO error messages) the style is neither in the slot chosen nor can it be loaded and used.
So I think there are some major issues in doing these on a PA3 and saving the sets on a PA3.
When I also tried to circumvent this using XRM, most of the style banks reported an error and could not be loaded. I will continue to experiment with XRM, but I am not hopeful.
Good try Pete though, it was appreciated that you at least tried.
I think there must have been a change in this structure from the PA1 to the PA3.
This is a heads-up for other PA1 users.

Okay I have narrowed it down a bit in XRM.
These style banks have NOT loaded - 1,4,5,6,8,9,11, user 2.
Error message is out of subscript range, which in XRM usually means the number of styles in the set exceeds 32.
Pete can you check (or anyone with a PA3) how many styles are actually in those banks I wrote above?
I will now re-create PA1 sets using XRM and the styles that DID import, and see if they then run on the PA1.

I created a bank in XRM, and then loaded it to the PA1.
PA1 then allows the entire set to be saved to either a DriectHD bank, or a User bank, however...........the styles will NOT load to use. No error message, nothing. They just will not load in.
So it looks like (for PA1 users anyway) that it is a fizzer. No probs as there are lots of good styles already
Again many thanks Pete for at least trying it. I am sure they will run fine on a PA3.

Thank you ever so kindly Pete, great job.
I hope I don't forget to backup first (thanks for the warning), but I'm so excited to try these...

Hi Dennis
I used these on my i30, PA1X and PA2X so they should load BUT, as per my included README,
you cannot load banks on the PA1X/2X, you need to load individual styles.
Also you should use the style files from the "RAW" SET.
If you (or anyone else) still has any issues I will zip up the original STY files for you but you still have to load styles individually.
Hope this helps
Pete
(Hoping I haven't messed anything up here!!!!! )

Pete yep already tried that -
Also got the same result from the RAW files. But I will try again, jsut make sure it is not user error..
Also can you check on the styles number per set of those I wrote above? as I know in XRM if the number exceeds 32 it crashes, and as the other sets load in it would be good to cross-check.

These style banks have NOT loaded - 1,4,5,6,8,9,11, user 2.
Sorry Dennis, I am confused here. You cannot load the SET or STY files, you can only load individual styles - this was always the case on the PA1X/PA2X
All I have done for the PA3X owners is to load them into the PA3X and save a valid PA3X SET. If I still owned a PA1X and PA2X, I could have done the same.
So you have to:
Open the RAW SET,
Open an STY file
Select a style then load it.
Hope I haven't misunderstood you
Cheers

No no no !!! Not loaded into the PA, loaded into XRM!!
And yes m8, I did exactly that (as you wrote) I have been loading styles on Korg PA since PA1

among a great many other things on the PA series.
btw I just re-did it trying one of the RAW ones and same result, laod a style to a slot, the PA loads the name to the slot for sure, but then when the style is selected it does not load. It does not even send up an error message.
The loaded style (yours) flashes a couple of times (as per the usual) but then jumps back to the home screen with whatever style was already in memory.
Dennis
PS: just to add - I tried loading single styles from both the bank created by XRM and the sets as you have them, neither works (well, loads).

Sorry Dennis - I know you are experienced in these things - guessed I had misunderstood.
Sorry but I know absolutely nothing about XRM and can only vouch for i-series/PA1/PA2/PA3
There must be a bug in XRM
Cheers

Try a style from one of the included i3ROM SETs - I used those exact SETs on my PA1X many times.
(Are you at latest PA1X OS level?)
Please let me know....

I would not expect any SET or STY file to load in the keyboard or software based on Korg's documentation which basically says the same.
To load in all those styles takes a long time but that's the Korg limitation on upward style compatibility
I am puzzled as to why your keyboard will not load an individual style though ???????

No probs Pete

, it is just one of those things.
btw, XRM is old style management PC software for creating your own banks.
I have used it for years.
It cannot be a bug in XRM as I also tried loading straight from your provided sets (raw and the others). .
I suspect these were saved on your PA3x, yes? In which case I think (and this is just a guesstimate) that it must write something into the set files (even the ones you labelled raw) that makes it incompatible with the PA1 OS. It (the PA1) can load the name to a slot, but somehow is not loading the rest.

Yep OS 3.01
I will try one of the i3 rom ones now...........yep it loads and plays fine. Although these were the ones I already had I think from the IrishActs downloads section

looking at the names.
