I suspect these were saved on your PA3x, yes? In which case I think (and this is just a guesstimate) that it must write something into the set files (even the ones you labelled raw)
Yep!! That could be it - I will get the originals ready to re-build.
If the i3ROM styles worked I think you have hit the nail on the head!!

karmathanever wrote:PS: just to add - I tried loading single styles from both the bank created by XRM and the sets as you have them, neither works (well, loads).
I would not expect any SET or STY file to load in the keyboard or software based on Korg's documentation which basically says the same.
To load in all those styles takes a long time but that's the Korg limitation on upward style compatibility
I am puzzled as to why your keyboard will not load an individual style though ???????

As you know the PA1 does allow full style sets to be loaded (not just one at a time) I do it all the time. I once completely over-wrote all the Factory styles with them re-ordered in my own genre setups.
It's easy with software like XRM - I even created banks and used them on the PA3 when I had it...as you say the whole ".set" thing with Korg has not changed much, but how they create/write styles and embed data has.
Anyhoo, all I was after for the most part was that style you mentioned that was perfect for Green Dolphin Street - I still have not located it it among all the i3 and i30 styles.
There
IS one on the PA3x though

This is great!! And thanks - I had a little twinge that something might not work
So, I will zip up all the original STYLE SETs for PA1X/2X owners - these are unchanged and were used on my PA1X (and i30 !!)
Give me a day - will keep you posted.

Hi ALL
Dennis has found a problem - but only applies to non-PA3X owners
I have updated the download link but PA3X files are the same.
This is now ONLY for PA3X owners - I will get a version ready for PA1X/2X owners within the next couple of days.
THANKS DENNIS!!!!

Thanks a lot Pete.
I tested the PA3X version on a PA600. Styles are fine, but STS are all Piano only.

Thank you for your feedback re pa600 - great!!!
Remember that these were for Korg's first arranger - the i3.
There was no STS on i3 so you will have to edit some in if you need them
also there were not 4 FILLs (usually 2) in those days.
Cheers

Pete,
I have loaded several of the styles into my Pa900 no trouble and they play fine.
Thanks again for these files.

Thanks ALOT Pete!

These styles rock, I've been playing all days around with these. And I'm happy you shared before making to much tweaking yourself, as with my homebuild JBL PA's, Homebuild Amb's, and self selected user samples (from commercial providers) - I would have to tweak this again myself anyway.
Really appreciative for your sharing, Pete - "U THE MAN!"..
Happy playing...

Thanks for the i3 styles, Pete.
A lot for me to go through but some are really good so far.
