I am looking into buying myself a KP quad and have a few questions I can't seem to find the answers to, (probably due to them being daft questions) but I wanted to know..

Am I correct in thinking I just need a laptop, mixer, speakers (and of obviously the Pad), to be able to use it ? I know what cables I need but I'm slightly confused to what I need to be linking it up to.

Also do I need any music software in order to make it work, or can I play music through any programme ?

Any help would be appreciated as I am a novice to say the least

sound goes in, touch the pad, effects on sound come out...what you use to put the sound in, or get the sound out is up to you...computer, cd player, microphone...going out to speakers, headphones, mixer...or you can run it in the fx loop of your mixer and apply it to certain channels. All up to you...I suggest reading the manual...seriously, read the manual...all of the manual, from the front to the back.
