Confused about Kaossilator Pro MIDI and note data

Howdy y'all,

I'm interested in possibly picking up the Kaossilator Pro to add to my growing Kaoss collection, however, I can't seem to find an answer to my specific question.

I want to be able to record whatever notes I play on the KOP via midi into FLStudio. Does the KOP send note data or just CC data? If I set the KOP to a particular key and scale, will it just send the notes in that scale?

The KPro can send note data in external mode as a controller but it does not respond to note data that is received, it uses CC's for notes. There is a discussion in this thread that should provide some more information.

That discussion is more on using an external controller to play the KPro. If you just need to record a KPro performance into a DAW and be able to play it back using the CC data instead of note messages then that should work ok. It does make editing a problem.

Thanks for the info. I'm not as concerned with playing the KP via MIDI as much as I am writing melodies WITH the KP that I can then assign to other VSTs within FLStudio.
