Connect editor via Ethernet? Massive lag over USB?

This may be a backwards thought, but would it be beneficial for future products/updates to have inboard Ethernet ports/allow the editor to connect over Ethernet?
Currently, using a new 2013 retina MacBook Pro, their is awful lag when editing/updating pages/info on the kronos. - I had an idea that this would be reduced if the connection was Ethernet? I know this would mean using a USB adapter on the kronos side! but their would be no bandwidth issues on the mac side using a USB3 adapter or even thunderbolt adapter?
Does anyone have advice on making the editor software more usable with OSX10.9? The lag is so bad, the software/kronos start freezing when using the editor to adjust a value on kronos?...
