Always dangerous commenting on a synth you don't own, but most people who like Kurzweil tend to say it sounds "warmer" than the Kronos, the orchestral presets are very nice, and overall the quality of programmed sounds is excellent considering the small-ish samples they use. They also agree that it's time Kurzweil ups their game with a new workstation, but it's been two NAMMs at least since people were expecting them to so I'm not sure if/when it'll happen.

The Kurzweil is still considered to be a very powerful and flexible workstation especially if you dive into its VAST engine, but indeed the tiny screen is a huge deterrant for really doing so.

In my personal opinion, the Kronos' ability to stream large sample libraries from disk, its large touch screen, and the ability to load DX7 presets, made it win out over Kurzweil before the battle really began.

+1
Moreover, Kronos offers a lot of 'external integration' capabilities to add your hardware (control, recording, audio with multiple routing options, etc.). Furthermore, with brand new organ engine update and as personal opinion, Korg finally kills that great 'B3' Kurz features and musicality.

Last, VAST edition is so deep (and not always user friendly) that makes Kronos a kind of toy for serious programmers (even when possibilities are simply and literally endless)
