Do I need an SD card to edit settingKaossiator Pro +?

I am using the editor on my Mac and changed the "Program Memory" settings while my KP+ is plugged in via usb, but looks like the settings haven't changed on the pad itself. Do I need to load them onto an sd card as well for the quick program memory settings to change? Thanks for any help
