A little Analog talk

Post by BasariStudios »

I think this can belong here...today i had nothing better to do and started
comparing Sounds that i am programming, to see whats up. Previously i
did the same Sounds on Kronos too, this is just few of those.
Synths used are SEM V, CS80 V, Element and Retrologue...let's see if
anyone finds it interesting. I personally can not
say i like this synth or that better, i do like certain sound on a certain
synth better like for example, Unknown i like best on Retrologue while
Harp on SEM V e tc...lets see if anyone interested to comment.
Scroll down too, there is 10 MP3s in total:

Well only a personal opinion ...

from the sounds, I like the brass sounds best and Retroloque specially. It has the right "bubbling" in the timbre and has a good presence.

May I ask if you did something special on the brass sound on the Retrologue, or is it the pure VCO/VCF combination? I know about a "trick" to get this kind of "flutter" by applying a fast LFO to the cutoff frequency. What did you do (in principle)?
