I'm a MIDIot

OK, I have a problem. One with a workaround, but a problem nonetheless.
So, I have a Yamaha DTX Multi12 connected to my Kaossilator Pro (not +). Mostly I just have it connected for looping at this point. However, because it has a footswitch jack I wanted to use it as my MIDI Clock Master. So, footswitch is working fine and sending the clock data. I was really proud that I got that far. Here is where the problem comes in…..
There are 2 patches on the Multi12 that seem to be sending MIDI data to the Kaossilator that isn't clock data. It is very specific as to what it is doing, but I can't find anything in the Multi12 that says to send data when changing to those 2 patches. I am hoping that if I describe what is happening, someone here might know what info is being sent so I can find it more easily and take that data out of the Multi12.
So, every time I switch to the Conga patch the Kaossilator goes to C086, and I lose any ability to hear the XY pad make sound. It also appears that the Hold function is ON, though I don't see it flash in the display. The last predictable behavior I notice is that I can start a loop from the A-D banks, but I can't stop them unless I go into the MIDI settings and come back out. Then I can start and stop them just fine.
So, I thought maybe it is turning off the XY pad. So, I tried programming a pad to Turn ON XY to see if that did anything. Didn't help. Maybe it is turning the audio off?? Doubtful since the banks play fine initially, only the XY doesn't generate sound. Maybe it is putting it into External control only until I enter the MIDI menu?? I don't know.
Now, the same thing happens when I go to the Brazil patch except this time it changes the KPRO to B083.
If i disable all MIDI functions other than CLOCK (which is set to EXT) this doesn't happen and makes me happy. But I'm forgetful sometimes, and forgetting means I have to turn it off and back on again which is annoying when you're really feeling it.
Any thoughts on what this could be? I did find a function in the Multi12 that allows MIDI data to be sent upon switching to a kit, but neither of these had that option turned on. Doesn't mean there isn't a bug, but just thought I would mention it. Below is the pad programming if that helps, though I'm not striking a pad when this happens, it is upon kit change only.
Thanks for any help, even if it doesn't work for this issue I'm sure I'll learn something. Is it possible that there are MIDI codes stored in the KPRO that i need to delete? I bought this used, so I could do a reset if you think that is best. I tried to do one based on an article I found, but it didn't seem to work, so how to do that would be helpful too.
Thanks a lot.
Shawn
