Ambient live jam with the roland aira series and korg kronos

Post by QuiRobinez »

This afternoon i was live jamming with the roland TR8, TB-3, ableton push and a couple of my own AL-1 and HD-1 presets and it sounded really nice together, so i recorded the jam on video and here it is.

It's not really the style most people will like i guess, but it shows that the kronos can do also some other type of ambient style songs.

All synth sounds are from the kronos except the 303 sound which is played by the tb-3 sequencer which runs in sync with the ableton live kronos patterns.

Excellent jam session! You really have a good sense of mixing sound tweaking via the knobs and various phrasing going on at the same time.

Very relaxing to listen to. I just made a similar sequenced jam as well and just posted it with similar instruments. I love the ambience.

Like it very much ...

it's like listening to the sound-track of a science fiction movie

absolutely, that sidechaining feature works like a charm. In the video i used a little bit of sidechaining on the tb-3 which is connected through the tr-8.

But for synths you can easely get pad ducking sounds that way and let the drums stand out in the mix.

a popular trance music term for volume drops in a pad sound at regular intervals. (most of the time triggered by the Kick sound)
